Earlier, captain Harmanpreet Singh’s goals and PR Sreejesh’s saves led to a 2-1 victory over Spain at the Yves du Manoir Stadium in France. This victory is historic as India won consecutive bronze medals for the first time in 52 years, since the 1972 Munich Games.

Coach Shivendra Singh expressed that winning back-to-back medals was a significant achievement and required extensive preparation. He described it as a tough job but a momentous occasion in India’s hockey history.

India finished 71st in the Paris Olympics medal tally, while the United States topped the list with a total of 126 medals.
