Indian Diaspora in Austria Welcomes PM Modi’s Historic Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Austria has brought joy to the Indian community living there. Young members of the Indian diaspora gathered in Vienna to welcome him.

PM Modi traveled from Moscow, Russia, where he received the Order of St Andrew the Apostle, Russia’s highest civilian honor, from President Vladimir Putin. This award was given to him for his significant contributions to the partnership between Russia and India.

In Austria, PM Modi will meet President Alexander Van der Bellen and hold talks with Chancellor Karl Nehammer. This visit is historic as it is the first time in 41 years that an Indian Prime Minister has visited Austria.

Vineet Bhardwaj, a member of the Indian diaspora, expressed his excitement, saying, “It feels great that an Indian Prime Minister is coming here after 40 years. We hope that the ties between the two countries will further strengthen.”

Shraddha Agarwal, who has lived in Austria for 18 years, congratulated PM Modi on his third term and welcomed him on behalf of the Indian community. She praised the energy he brings, calling it “Modi magic.”

Before departing for Austria, PM Modi interacted with the Indian community in Moscow and announced the opening of Indian consulates in Kazan and Yekaterinburg. He emphasized the strong ties between India and Russia and praised the Indian diaspora for their role in strengthening these relationships.
