Indian Delegation Led by V. Srinivas Visits Sri Lanka for Civil Servant Training

A five-member Indian delegation from the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), led by Secretary DARPG and Director General of the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), V. Srinivas, is visiting Colombo from July 7-9. The visit aims to discuss collaboration with the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) for training Sri Lankan civil servants in India.

The delegation will meet the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Dinesh Chandra Rupasinghe Gunawardena, and other key officials including E.M.S.B. Ekanayake, Secretary to the President of Sri Lanka, Anura Dissanayake, Secretary to the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, and Pradeep Yasarathne, Secretary Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Council and Local Government.

The agenda includes discussions on capacity-building programs and the potential signing of a long-term agreement through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The visit also features an interactive session with NCGG alumni in the Sri Lankan Civil Service and a presentation by district administration officials on public services.

This visit, invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in personnel administration and governance. The NCGG has previously organized three training programs for Sri Lankan civil servants, training a total of 95 officers to date.
