Indian Cricket Team Heads to Australia for Border Gavaskar Trophy

The Indian cricket team has begun its journey to Australia for the much-awaited Border Gavaskar Trophy. The first group of players left from Mumbai Airport on Sunday night. The series will start in Perth on November 22 and is crucial for India’s chances in the World Test Championship 2025 final.

Players and Coaches Depart

Among those spotted at the airport were fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep, along with assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. All-rounder Washington Sundar, middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan, and star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal were also part of the first batch. Jaiswal took time to interact with fans, signing autographs and shaking hands.

Series Schedule

After a disappointing series against New Zealand, India needs a 4-0 win to secure a spot in the WTC final. The series opener will be in Perth, followed by a day-night Test in Adelaide from December 6 to 10. The third Test will be at The Gabba in Brisbane from December 14 to 18. The Boxing Day Test will take place at Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26 to 30, and the final Test will be at Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7.
