Indian Community in Laos Welcomes PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Vientiane, Laos, for a two-day visit to attend the 21st ASEAN-India Summit and the 19th East Asia Summit. His visit is at the invitation of Laos’ Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone. The Indian community in Laos gathered outside his hotel to welcome him warmly.

Community Reactions

Ajit Parida, an Indian resident in Laos, expressed joy at PM Modi’s visit, highlighting the unity it brings to the Indian community. Pulak, another community member, praised PM Modi as a great leader and emphasized the importance of India-Laos relations.

Namrata Jaitley, also part of the Indian diaspora, called the visit a “big moment” for strengthening ties between India and Laos. She hopes PM Modi will visit the Buddha park, which showcases the ancient links between the two countries.

Before departing, PM Modi stated that the East Asia Summit would address challenges to peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. He also mentioned the significance of the Act East Policy, which marks its tenth anniversary this year.
