Indian Athletes Get Ready for Paris Olympics 2024 with New Kits Unveiled by Ministers

New Delhi, India – On Sunday, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and other dignitaries attended a special event in the national capital to send off Indian athletes heading to the Paris Olympics 2024. The event was organized by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).

Special Guests and Unveiling of Kits

Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Mansukh Mandaviya, was joined by Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, and IOA President PT Usha. During the event, Mandaviya unveiled three kits for the Indian team, including a ceremonial dress, playing kit, performance shoes, and travel gear.

Speeches and Encouragement

Mandaviya praised the hard work and dedication of the athletes, stating that the event symbolized the dreams and aspirations of billions of Indians. He expressed confidence that the athletes would continue India’s growth in sports, hoping for an even better performance than in previous Olympics.

Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted the support from public sector corporations and expressed confidence in the athletes’ ability to bring home medals. PT Usha emphasized the athlete-centric support plan, including sports medicine experts, wellness specialists, and more, to ensure peak performance in Paris.

About the Kits

The playing kit, designed by JSW Inspire, and the ceremonial dress by Tarun Tahiliani-owned TASVA, along with performance shoes and travel gear by PUMA, were showcased during a ramp-walk by the athletes. The kits are designed to provide maximum comfort, featuring anti-static, stretch, air vent, moisture-wicking, and anti-microbial technologies.

Indian Contingent

India will send around 120 athletes to the Paris Olympics, including a strong Athletics team led by Neeraj Chopra, a 21-member Shooting team, and a 16-member men’s Hockey team.
