In the Jhullas area of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army’s Romeo Force successfully seized a large cache of weapons and explosives. This operation was based on a tip-off, leading to the discovery of a suspected terrorist bag containing items like AK 47 and Pistol rounds of Pakistani origin, sophisticated explosives such as RCIED, Timed destruction IED, Stove IED, and Chinese Grenades.

On October 5, a major search operation was initiated by the Romeo Force. The recovered items were found to be in functional and ready-to-use condition. This success is crucial for maintaining security during the upcoming elections and poll results.

Ongoing Efforts

The operation is still ongoing. Earlier, a patrol by police and army on Ring Road Gharota in Jammu discovered a suspicious explosive, which was safely disposed of by the Bomb Disposal Squad.
