The Red Shield Division of the Indian Army, part of the Spear Corps, has launched a 10-day ‘National Integration Tour’ for nine Youth Ambassadors from Manipur. This initiative, under Operation Sadbhavana, aims to engage and inspire local youth by exposing them to India’s rich cultural heritage and the Indian Army’s role in national unity.

Tour Itinerary

The tour, which began on October 14, will cover the cities of Kolkata, Tawang, and Shillong. In Kolkata, the Youth Ambassadors will visit the Victoria Memorial, participate in a Heritage Walk at Fort William, and tour the Eastern Command Headquarters of the Indian Army.

In Tawang, the group will explore Sela Pass, Sela Lake, Tawang Monastery, and Madhuri Lake. They will also pay tribute at Bum La Pass and the Tawang War Memorial, honoring soldiers from the 1962 Indo-China War.

The final leg of the tour in Shillong includes visits to Dawki Lake, Mawlynnong Village, Elephant Waterfall, and the Seven Sisters Waterfall. The group will also meet the Governor of Meghalaya.

Tour Conclusion

The tour will conclude on October 23 in Imphal. It aims to bridge cultural gaps, promote national unity, and provide the Youth Ambassadors with a deeper understanding of India’s diverse heritage and the Indian Army’s contributions.
