A heartfelt tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Army was paid through a commemorative bike rally organized from the Old Kargil Memorial to Randhawa Top (Point 13620) on the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

Event Details

The rally was organized by the Indian Army in collaboration with SAEL and NGO Pawan Prithvi Paani. It began with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Old Kargil Memorial by Brigadier Jaideep Chanda, honoring the soldiers who defended Kargil from 1947-48.

Kargil Heritage Hut

The recently renovated Kargil Heritage Hut was inaugurated, featuring vintage mine-protected vehicles and an ‘I Love India’ selfie point with the backdrop of Point 13620.

Randhawa Top

Randhawa Top, standing at 13,620 feet, has significant historical importance. The bike rally, spanning 35 kilometers, was flagged off here. Participants included officers, civil dignitaries, ex-servicemen, and local bikers. The route’s challenging curves echoed the courage of the troops who captured this peak from the enemy.

Upon reaching Randhawa Top, another wreath-laying ceremony was held, followed by the inauguration of a selfie point. This rally served as a prelude to the grand celebrations of 25 years of Kargil Vijay Diwas, reminding everyone of the sacrifices and indomitable spirit of the soldiers.
