Indian Army Stops NSCN Recruitment in Assam, Saves Four Youths

The Indian Army, along with Assam Police, successfully prevented the recruitment of four youths by the NSCN (IM) faction in Tinsukia District, Assam. The youths were intercepted at New Tinsukia Railway Station on July 12, 2024, before they could board a train to Dimapur.

The operation was based on precise information and involved discreet surveillance at the railway station. The youths were apprehended and later given a warning by police authorities before being handed over to their families.

This successful operation not only saved the youths from falling into the insurgent group’s trap but also exposed the illegal recruitment network in the region.
