Indian Army Soldier Injured in Terrorist Attack at Sunjwan Military Station
On Monday, an Indian Army soldier was injured when terrorists opened fire at the Sunjwan military station in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir. According to Defence officials, the terrorists fired from a stand-off distance outside the base. More details are awaited.
Successful Operation in Machhal and Tangdhar Sectors
On Thursday, the Indian Army successfully eliminated three terrorists attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machhal and Tangdhar sectors of Jammu and Kashmir. Intelligence agencies provided credible inputs, which were corroborated by the J-K Police, regarding likely infiltration attempts from these areas. Based on these inputs, troops from the Indian Army, JKP, and BSF laid ambushes on likely infiltration routes in both sectors.
Suspicious movement was detected on the evening of August 28, leading to a firefight that continued until the early morning of August 29. This operation marks the 6th in the Kupwara district this year, resulting in the elimination of 10 terrorists, including foreign infiltrators.
