Indian Army Rescues Four People in Wayanad Landslide
The Indian Army successfully rescued four individuals, including two men and two women, from the rubble in Wayanad, Kerala. The rescue operation took place on Friday and was carried out with great precision and care.
Rescue Operation Details
The individuals were stranded in Padavetti Kunnu, Wayanad. An Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) was used to facilitate the rescue. One of the rescued women had a leg injury and received necessary medical attention.

Kerala ADGP (law and order) MR Ajith Kumar mentioned that the revenue department is still collecting data to determine the number of people missing. A joint team, including the Indian Army, NDRF, local police, special operations groups, fire force, Coast Guard, and Navy, has been conducting operations in the area for the past four days.
Engineering Feat
The Indian Army’s Southern Command constructed a Bailey Bridge over the Iruvanipzha River at Chooralmala, enabling the movement of heavy earth movers and excavators. Ten specialized teams equipped with rescue apparatus, including dog squads and heavy earth-moving equipment, have been formed to speed up the rescue operations.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George confirmed 308 deaths due to multiple landslides that hit Wayanad on July 30. So far, 195 bodies and 113 body parts have been recovered. Rescue and relief operations are ongoing, coordinated by the Army, NDRF, SDRF, and civil administration.
Advanced Technology
The Indian Air Force is deploying a C-130 aircraft from Hindon air base to Wayanad, carrying specialized drone systems and a team of experts for sub-soil evacuation monitoring. These drones will help locate people trapped under the soil.
