Empowering Children and Women in Senapati District
The Indian Army has taken a significant step towards community empowerment by establishing a modern computer lab and a Skill Development Centre in Manipur’s Senapati district. These projects are part of Operation Sadbhavana, aimed at uplifting local communities.
Computer Lab at PK Shedu Revival Foundation Children’s Home
Located in Kathiku Karong village, the new computer lab is designed to enhance the learning experience for children at the orphanage. The facility includes seven computers, a printer, a projector, and other necessary equipment. The inauguration was attended by Army officers and local village chiefs, who praised the Army’s efforts.
Skill Development Centre in Taphou Pudunamei
To support local women, including widows and Veer Naris, the Army has set up a Skill Development Centre in Taphou Pudunamei. This centre is equipped with 15 sewing machines, three embroidery machines, and other essential furniture. It aims to teach stitching and embroidery, helping women become self-reliant and earn a livelihood.
