Indian Army Honors Agniveer Ajay Kumar’s Sacrifice Amidst Compensation Controversy

The Indian Army has paid tribute to Agniveer Ajay Kumar, who lost his life while serving the nation. His family has already received Rs 98.39 lakhs, and additional benefits amounting to Rs 67 lakhs will be paid after police verification.

However, a controversy has emerged. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Defence Minister Rajnath Singh of lying about the compensation in Parliament. Gandhi claimed that despite Singh’s statement, Ajay Kumar’s family had not received the promised amount. He demanded an apology from the Defence Minister.

Rajnath Singh responded by asserting that Rs 1 crore is given to the families of Agniveers who die in the line of duty. He accused Gandhi of misleading the Parliament with incorrect statements.

The Indian Army emphasized that they honor the sacrifices of their soldiers and ensure that due compensation is paid to their families promptly.
