Indian Army Holds First Dental Camp at Siachen Glacier

The Indian Army’s Fire and Fury Corps organized its first-ever dental camp at a forward post on the Siachen Glacier. This camp provided essential oral healthcare services to the personnel stationed in the world’s highest battlefield, improving their overall well-being despite the harsh weather conditions.

The Siachen Glacier is located in the eastern Karakoram range in the Himalayas and is often considered the world’s highest battlefield.

Earlier on April 13, the Indian Air Force celebrated the 40th anniversary of ‘Operation Meghdoot,’ a significant operation carried out by the Indian forces to gain control of the Siachen Glacier by thwarting Pakistan’s efforts to capture it. This operation, conducted on April 13, 1984, remains one of the largest military operations by the Indian forces.
