Indian Army Gets New Cranes and Honors Fallen Soldiers in Doda Encounter
The Indian Army has inducted 40 heavy-duty hydraulic mobile cranes from Tractor India Limited to improve disaster management operations. These new cranes will help the Combat Engineers perform their tasks more efficiently.
In a separate event, the Indian Army expressed their condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives in a firefight with terrorists in the Desa Forest area of Doda. The encounter took place on Monday evening, and the fallen soldiers are Captain Brijesh Thapa, Naik D Rajesh, Sepoy Bijendra, and Sepoy Ajay.
General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff, along with all ranks of the Indian Army, conveyed their deepest condolences to the families of the Bravehearts. The Army stands firm with the bereaved families in this hour of grief.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed his condolences to the families of the soldiers. On Monday night, based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation by the Indian Army and JK Police was in progress in Doda. A heavy firefight ensued around 9 PM, resulting in the loss of four Army personnel, including an officer.
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi briefed Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on the encounter in Doda.
