Indian Army Faces Terrorist Attack in Kathua After Successful Operations in Kulgam and Chinigham

An Indian Army convoy was attacked by terrorists in the Machedi area of Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday. This area falls under the 9th Corps of the Indian Army. Defence officials stated, “After firing by terrorists, our troops also retaliated. More details are awaited.”

Brigadier Prithviraj Chauhan, Commander 1sec RR, reported that six terrorists were killed in two different encounters in South Kashmir, dealing a significant blow to Hizbul-Mujahideen. Unfortunately, one Army personnel also sacrificed his life during the operation.

The first encounter occurred in Modergam village, followed by another in the Frisal Chinnigam area. Jammu and Kashmir has seen a rise in terrorist attacks recently. In June, three terrorists were neutralized in the Gandoh, Bhaderwah sector of district Doda, according to ADGP Anand Jain.
