Indian Army Celebrates 10th International Yoga Day in Northeast India

The Indian Army marked the 10th International Yoga Day by organizing yoga sessions across several northeastern states, including Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, and Manipur. Over 5,446 participants took part in these sessions.

Manipur

In Manipur, 3,454 personnel participated in events held at various locations such as Moreh, Gwaltabi, Senapati, Leimakhong, Bishnupur, Ningthiching, Phougakchao, Ikhai, Kumbi, and Kangvai. At the Leimakhong military station alone, 500 officers, junior commissioned officers, and other ranks joined with their families.

Assam

Assam saw 1,601 participants in places like Laipuli, Rupai, Digboi, Charidwar Pengri, Margherita, DK Gaon, Makum, Phillobari, Dirak, Daisajan, and Kakopathar. Special sessions were organized at Kakopathar Junior College, Purbottar Vikas Parishad Orphanage, and locations in the Tinsukia District, engaging over 450 teachers and students along with Army and Assam Rifles personnel.

Other States

In Tripura, 197 participants gathered at Elbert Ekka Park in Agartala. Mizoram’s Aizawl saw 71 participants, while Nagaland’s Chakabama, Zakhama, and Dimapur hosted 123 personnel.

These widespread celebrations reflect the Indian Army’s dedication to promoting yoga’s benefits, fostering community ties, and honoring a 5,000-year-old tradition that contributes to global harmony in body, mind, and society. The Indian Army extends warm wishes to all, celebrating yoga as a symbol of unity, health, and inner peace.
