Indian Army, BSF, and Manipur Police Recover Huge Cache of Arms in Manipur
In a joint operation, the Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), and Manipur Police successfully recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition, and war-like stores in Bungjang Village, located in the fringe areas of Kangpokpi and Imphal East districts of Manipur.
According to an official release, the operation was based on specific information and led by the Indian Army, with support from BSF and Manipur Police. The operation resulted in the seizure of various weapons, including a sniper rifle, a heavy calibre launcher, a pistol, a single barrel gun, ammunition, and multiple war-like stores.
The captured arms and war-like stores have been handed over to Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal. The security forces emphasized their commitment to restoring peace and prosperity in the state of Manipur.
Earlier, on September 22, the Army, in coordination with Manipur Police, conducted a series of search operations and area dominations, recovering a significant number of arms, ammunition, and explosives from several districts, including Churachandpur. The recovered items included a 5.5 feet rocket, 9 mm SMG Carbines, a large size mortar, two medium-sized mortars, 4 mortar bombs, two pistols with magazines, 9 live ammunition rounds, a single barrel rifle, 17-meter cortex, 9-meter-long fuse, and hand grenades.
