In Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a joint operation after noticing suspicious terrorist activities. The operation began on November 7, 2024, in Panipura, Sopore, following specific intelligence reports. When challenged, the terrorists opened fire, prompting the troops to retaliate. The operation is ongoing, as reported by the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army.

Recently, there has been an increase in terrorist activities in the region. On Wednesday, an encounter occurred in Margi, Lolab, Kupwara, and a terrorist was eliminated in Bandipora. On Tuesday, a joint operation by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF took place in Chuntawadi Kaitsan, Bandipora, following an encounter. Additionally, a terrorist associate named Ashiq Hussain Wani was apprehended in Sopore.

Earlier incidents include a grenade attack on November 3 in Srinagar, injuring twelve people, and the killing of two terrorists in Anantnag on November 2. On October 29, three terrorists were neutralized in Akhnoor after an attack on an Army convoy. On October 20, a tragic attack on a tunnel construction site in Ganderbal resulted in the deaths of a doctor and six workers.
