Indian Army and Police Team Up to Catch Terrorists in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir

A joint operation by the Indian Army’s Romeo Force and the Special Operation Group (SOG) Police is ongoing in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, to capture terrorists hiding in the forest. The operation is taking place in the Pathanateer area of Mendhar sector. Security forces have cordoned off the area.

Earlier, encounters occurred in the Kalaban area near Pathanateer in the Mendhar sector and in the Kathua district. The army reported that a search operation was initiated by police and security forces in the general area of Banj in Kathua district. After establishing contact with the terrorists, the police and army engaged in an exchange of fire.

On Friday, two army soldiers were killed in a gunbattle with terrorists in the Kishtwar district. In a post on X, White Knight Corps said, “GOC White Knight Corps and all ranks salute the supreme sacrifice of the Bravehearts; offer deepest condolences to the families.”
