Indian archers Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara advanced to the quarterfinals in the archery recurve mixed team event at the Paris Olympics. They defeated Indonesia’s Diananda Choirunisa and Arif Pangestu with a score of 5-1 in the Round of 16 at Les Invalides.

Ankita and Dhiraj took the first and third sets with scores of 37-36 and 38-37, respectively, while the second set was tied at 38-38. They will face either Spain or the People’s Republic of China in the quarterfinals.

In the archery men’s individual event, Dhiraj Bommadevara faced a tough match against Canada’s Eric Peters. The match was highly competitive, with both archers frequently hitting 10s. Despite a strong performance, Dhiraj was narrowly defeated in a shoot-off, ending his run in the singles event.
