Indian archers Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara are set to play for a medal after dominating Spain’s Elia Canales and Pablo Acha in the quarter-finals of the archery recurve mixed team event in Paris.

Quarter-Finals Victory

The Indian duo wrapped up the quarter-finals in four sets with a 5-3 win over the Spanish archers. In the opening set, Dhiraj struck back-to-back tens while Ankita hit nine twice, accumulating 38 points. The Spanish duo scored 37 points. The second set ended in a tie with both teams scoring 38 points.

Spain tied the score at 3-3 in the third set, but India managed to win the fourth set, securing their place in the semi-finals.

Previous Round Success

Earlier in the day, Ankita and Dhiraj defeated Indonesian archers Diananda Choirunisa and Arif Pangestu 5-1 in the Round of 16 at Les Invalides. They won the first and third sets with scores of 37-36 and 38-37, respectively, while the second set was tied at 38-38.

Ankita and Dhiraj will now compete in the semi-finals for a chance to win a medal.
