Indian and Bangladeshi authorities are working together to investigate the murder of Bangladesh Awami League MP Anwarul Azim Anar, who was found dead in a flat in Kolkata. Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra confirmed that law enforcement agencies from both countries are closely coordinating and sharing necessary information.

Bangladeshi Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan stated that Anar, who had gone missing in India, was found murdered on May 22. The Chief of the Bangladesh Detective Department, Harun-or-Rashid, is currently in India to assist with the investigation. He described the killing as a ‘cold-blooded, barbaric murder’ and noted that the prime suspect, Akhtaruzzaman, may have fled to the United States via Dubai from Kathmandu.

According to the findings, Anar was allegedly killed in a Kolkata apartment, where his body was dismembered and the remains were packaged in multiple plastic bags.
