Indian Ambassador and External Affairs Minister Strengthen Ties with Kuwait

On August 19, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Adarsh Swaika, met with Kuwait’s First Deputy PM, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. They discussed issues concerning the Indian community and explored the prospects of bilateral defense cooperation between India and Kuwait.

Meanwhile, on August 18, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited Kuwait. He met with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Jaishankar expressed gratitude for their support in strengthening bilateral relations. He also met with his Kuwaiti counterpart, Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, to discuss ways to deepen ties across various sectors.

During his visit, Jaishankar interacted with the Indian community in Kuwait and praised their contributions to the relationship between the two countries. The visit was seen as a step towards enhancing bilateral ties and preparing for future collaborations.

Earlier in June, a fire incident in Kuwait’s Mangaf resulted in the tragic deaths of 45 Indians. The victims included individuals from various Indian states, highlighting the diverse Indian community in Kuwait.
