Indian Air Force Rescues Critically Ill Patients from Leh Using Night Vision Goggles

The Indian Air Force (IAF) successfully evacuated two critically ill patients from Leh to Chandigarh late Thursday night. The evacuation was conducted using Night Vision Goggles, allowing the aircraft to land in the dark.

According to officials, the patients, a 38-year-old woman and a seven-year-old girl, were transported for further medical attention. The IAF stated in a post on X, “Swiftly responding to a time-critical medical evacuation request, an IAF aircraft safely evacuated two critical patients from Leh tonight. Pilots were equipped with Night Vision Goggles aiding the landing in the dark hours of the night.”

Earlier in April this year, an Indian Air Force transport aircraft airlifted two critically ill patients – one a victim of a road accident and another experiencing cardiac issues – from Leh to Chandigarh for treatment.
