The exercise aims to strengthen international cooperation and enhance operational experience. It provides an opportunity for force integration and the exchange of best practices among participating nations. The IAF has previously participated in the 2018 and 2022 editions of this exercise.

Significance

Exercise Pitch Black helps improve the ability of participating nations to deploy over large distances, support integrated operations in the Indo-Pacific region, and build strong aviation associations in a challenging environment.
