Indian Air Force Helps Andhra Pradesh with Flood Relief Efforts

The Indian Air Force has deployed two IL-76 aircrafts from Halwara and Bhatinda to airlift more than 200 NDRF personnel and tons of relief material to Vijayawada and Shamshabad. This effort is to aid the NDRF in their relief operations in Andhra Pradesh.

According to the Indian Air Force Media Co-ordination Centre, the aircrafts transported 242 NDRF personnel and 30 tons of relief materials. Multiple helicopters are also on standby to provide further assistance if needed.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu inspected the flooding situation in Vijayawada and mentioned that 110 boats are currently working to supply food and medical assistance. He assured the public that command and control centers are being set up in the flood-affected regions.

Governor S Abdul Nazeer expressed concern over the heavy rain and floods, advising people to stay in safer places and contact government authorities for rescue operations. He also requested NGOs like the Red Cross, Scouts and Guides to help in the rescue and relief efforts.
