India Wins Bronze in Hockey at Paris Olympics

New Delhi, India – Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian men’s hockey team for winning the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. The team secured a 2-1 victory over Spain at the Yves du Manoir Stadium, thanks to two goals from captain Harmanpreet Singh and excellent saves by PR Sreejesh.

This achievement marks the first time in 52 years that India has won consecutive bronze medals in hockey at the Olympics, the last being at the 1972 Munich Games. PM Modi praised the team’s ‘immense grit and resilience’ and highlighted their ‘skill, perseverance, and team spirit.’ He expressed that this victory would be cherished for generations and would make hockey even more popular among the youth in India.

Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah also congratulated the team, calling their performance ‘splendid’ and stating that their achievement has raised the pride of the nation. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lauded the team, calling them champions and expressing pride in their accomplishment.

Union Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh praised the team’s remarkable teamwork and skills, wishing them success in their future endeavors.

The Indian team, coached by Craig Fulton, made history by securing back-to-back bronze medals at the Olympics. Harmanpreet Singh scored two goals for India, while Marc Miralles scored the lone goal for Spain. PR Sreejesh, playing his last game for India, was emotional as the team celebrated this historic win.
