India Wins Against Zimbabwe in T20I: Washington Sundar Shines

Harare, Zimbabwe – July 10: India secured a 23-run victory against Zimbabwe in the third T20I match of the series on Wednesday. Spinner Washington Sundar was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his outstanding performance, taking three wickets and conceding only 15 runs in his four-over spell.

Washington Sundar expressed his joy in representing India and praised the team’s batting lineup. He noted that the pitch in Harare was better compared to the first two games and acknowledged the pressure put on them by the partnership between Dion Myers and Clive Madande.

India opted to bat first, with a strong 67-run partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal (36 runs) and skipper Shubman Gill. Shubman continued with a 72-run partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad, leading India to a total of 182/4 in 20 overs. Blessing Muzarbani and Sikandar Raza were the standout bowlers for Zimbabwe.

In their chase of 183 runs, Zimbabwe struggled initially at 39/5. However, a 77-run partnership between Dion Myers (65* runs) and Clive Madande (37 runs) revived their innings. Despite their efforts, Indian bowlers, led by Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan, restricted Zimbabwe to 159/6 in 20 overs.

Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan were the top bowlers for India, with Khaleel Ahmed also contributing a wicket.
