India’s women’s cricket team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, secured a 10-wicket victory against South Africa in a one-off Test match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Outstanding Performances

Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma were praised for their outstanding performance, scoring 149 and 205 runs respectively. Their partnership of 292 runs for the first wicket set a strong foundation for India.

India declared their innings at 603 for 6, giving them a massive lead. Despite South Africa’s strong second innings, with notable scores from Laura Wolvaardt, Sune Luus, and Nadine de Klerk, India emerged victorious.

Bowling Brilliance

Sneh Rana made history by becoming the second Indian bowler to take ten wickets in a single match. Harmanpreet Kaur also praised the bowlers for their relentless efforts and the support staff for their positive influence.

Upcoming Matches

After clinching the ODI and Test series, India will take on South Africa in a three-match T20I series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from July 5 to 9.
