Jyotiraditya Scindia’s Vision at Indian Mobile Congress 2024

Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia announced at the Indian Mobile Congress 2024 that India is set to lead the world in 6G technology. He highlighted India’s progress in telecommunications, attributing it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Scindia emphasized initiatives like BharatNet, which aims to connect rural areas with broadband, and noted the growth in mobile and broadband users. He also mentioned the expansion of India’s optical fibre networks and the success of digital payment systems like UPI. Scindia stressed the importance of policy frameworks keeping pace with digital advancements, citing the Telecommunications Act 2023 as an example. By mid-next year, India aims to achieve full 4G coverage nationwide, with a focus on becoming a leader in 6G technology.
