Paris, France – India’s Pooja Jatyan put up a brave fight but lost to China’s Wu Chunyan in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Individual Recurve Open at the Paris Paralympics 2024, with a score of 4-6.

Earlier, Indian archers Rakesh Kumar and Sheetal Devi won a bronze medal in the Mixed Team Compound event, defeating Italy’s Eleonora Sarti and Matteo Bonnacina 156-155.

India has won 20 medals so far in the ongoing event. Para-shuttler Nithya Sre Sivan secured a bronze in the women’s SH6 category by defeating Indonesia’s Rina Marlina 21-14, 21-6.

Nitesh clinched a gold medal in the men’s singles SL3 category by defeating Great Britain’s Daniel Bethell 21-14, 18-21, 23-21. Murugesan won a silver medal after losing to China’s Yang Qiu Xia 21-17, 21-10 in the same category.

Manisha won a bronze medal by defeating Denmark’s Cathrine Rosengren 21-12, 21-8. In the men’s singles SL4 category, Suhas won a silver after losing to France’s Lucas Mazur 9-21, 13-21.

Para-shooter Avani Lekhara won India’s first gold in the women’s 10m air rifle with 249.7 points, her personal best. Mona Agarwal won bronze in the same event. Manish Narwal secured a silver in the men’s 10m air pistol SH1 with 234.9 points.

Preeti won bronze in the 100m T35 event with a time of 14.21 seconds and another bronze in the 200m T35 race. Nishad Kumar won silver in the men’s high jump T47 with a leap of 2.04m. Yogesh Kathuniya won silver in the men’s Discus Throw F56 final.

Sumit Antil defended his gold in the men’s javelin throw F64 final with a record-breaking throw. Deepthi Jeevanji won bronze in the women’s 400m T20 final.
