India Sends Medical Aid to Lebanon Amid Rising Tensions
On October 18, India dispatched the first batch of 11 tons of medical supplies to Lebanon, part of a larger 33-ton humanitarian aid effort. This initiative aims to support Lebanon amidst escalating conflict in the southern region. The supplies include essential medications such as cardiovascular drugs, NSAIDs, antibiotics, and anesthetics.
Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs, shared on social media that the remaining supplies will follow soon. This move underscores India’s commitment to aiding Lebanon during this crisis.
Concerns Over UN Peacekeepers’ Safety
Amid the violence, India has expressed concern for the safety of United Nations peacekeepers, particularly those along the Blue Line separating Lebanon and Israel. With recent attacks on UNIFIL premises, India has called for measures to ensure the safety of peacekeepers.
India confirmed that no Indian troops are stationed along the Blue Line but is closely monitoring the situation. The call for respecting the inviolability of UN premises and ensuring the safety of peacekeepers has been reiterated.

The situation has attracted global attention, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urging the UN to withdraw peacekeeping forces due to Hezbollah’s influence.
