New Delhi, August 14: India is gearing up to celebrate its 78th Independence Day on August 15. Preparations are in full swing at the Red Fort in New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag and deliver his 11th consecutive speech. The entire country, from Srinagar to Ladakh, is ready to celebrate this significant day.

Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign

Prime Minister Modi has called for the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, encouraging citizens to display the national flag at their homes. This initiative aims to instill a sense of patriotism and is part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, launched in 2021 to celebrate India’s 75th year of independence. Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized that this campaign is a resolution to create a developed India by 2047.

Special Celebrations and Guests

This year’s Independence Day theme is ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’. Around 6,000 special guests, including students, tribal communities, farmers, and women who have excelled in various fields, will attend the celebrations at Red Fort. These guests have benefited from various government schemes and initiatives.

India’s Performance in Paris Olympics 2024

India finished its Paris Olympics 2024 campaign with six medals, including one silver and five bronze. The country sent 117 athletes to compete in various events. Notable achievements include Manu Bhaker’s two bronze medals in shooting, Neeraj Chopra’s silver in javelin throw, and Aman Sehrawat’s bronze in wrestling.

Grand Ceremony

Nearly 2,000 people from various states and union territories, dressed in traditional attire, will witness the grand ceremony. Additionally, 3,000 winners of online competitions and 2,000 cadets from different schools will participate. These cadets will form the ‘My Bharat’ logo with customized tricolor kits.
