On October 9, India lost a beloved industrialist, Ratan Tata, the chairman emeritus of Tata Sons. His passing is seen as a significant loss to the nation and its economy. BJD MLA Arun Kumar Sahoo expressed that Tata’s contributions were invaluable to both the country and the state economy. Tata’s final rites were held with full state honors at Worli Crematorium in Mumbai, attended by family, close aides, and his adopted dog, Goa.

Tributes poured in from across the nation, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who praised Tata’s leadership and compassion. Union Minister Amit Shah and other prominent leaders attended the last rites, highlighting Tata’s legacy as a visionary business leader and philanthropist. Business leaders like Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani also expressed their sorrow, acknowledging Tata’s impact on modern India.

Ratan Tata was born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai. He led Tata Sons from 1991 to 2012 and was later named Chairman Emeritus. He was honored with the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. The Maharashtra government has urged the Centre to award him the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor.
