India Eases Travel Ban to Libya, Advises Caution for Lebanon
New Delhi, India – India has relaxed its travel ban on Libya after assessing the current security situation, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The previous advisory had placed Libya on a travel ban list along with several other countries.
The updated advisory now suggests that Indian nationals should avoid non-essential travel to Libya. The MEA also urged Indian nationals to exercise caution and stay in contact with the Indian Embassy in Tripoli. An emergency phone number was provided: +218943992046.
Last week, the Indian Embassy in Lebanon advised all Indian nationals to leave Lebanon due to escalating tensions between Israel and Lebanon following a rocket attack at Golan Heights and the killing of top Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr. The embassy advised against travel to Lebanon until further notice and urged Indian nationals in Lebanon to exercise extreme caution and stay in touch with the Indian embassy in Beirut.
