India Celebrates T20 World Cup Victory with Parade and Dance in Mumbai
The Indian cricket team celebrated their T20 World Cup victory with a grand parade in Mumbai. The team, led by Rohit Sharma, arrived at the Wankhede Stadium and danced to the beats of dhol, continuing the night of celebration.
The festivities began with an open-top bus parade from Marine Drive. Fans turned up in large numbers, dancing and cheering as the players lifted the T20 World Cup trophy high in the air. Some fans even climbed trees to get a better view of their favorite stars.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials, including Secretary Jay Shah and Vice-President Rajiv Shukla, joined the celebrations on the bus. Players like Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal proudly bore the Indian flag on their shoulders, celebrating the end of a 13-year-long ICC World Cup trophy drought.
Rohit Sharma was seen holding the hands of Rahul Dravid and Suryakumar Yadav high in the air during the celebration. The cricket fever had already gripped Mumbai, with fans eagerly awaiting the team’s arrival.
Before reaching Mumbai, the team arrived in New Delhi and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breakfast. The players wore special jerseys with two stars over the BCCI emblem, representing their two T20 World Cup wins, and the word ‘CHAMPIONS’ written in bold letters.
