India and Singapore to Boost Ties in Advanced Technology, Says High Commissioner Shilpak Ambule
Singapore, September 3: India is excited to strengthen its relationship with Singapore, especially in advanced manufacturing technology like semiconductors, according to Indian High Commissioner to Singapore, Shilpak Ambule.
Ambule highlighted Singapore’s key role in ASEAN and its importance to India’s Indo-Pacific strategy. He said, “We are setting the relationship up for a further boost in new and emerging areas of advanced manufacturing technology. We have a lot to learn from Singapore in terms of skills. So they are helping us in our skilling initiative.”
He added, “Singapore has been a pillar of our engagement in the ASEAN countries. Singapore has helped us get into this region, into the East Asia Summit, and it gels well with our Indo-Pacific strategy.”
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the India-Singapore strategic partnership. Ambule mentioned that India aims to diversify cooperation into areas like advanced technology manufacturing, green growth, and sustainability.
