India and Singapore Strengthen Ties: Jaideep Mazumdar Meets Luke Goh in New Delhi
New Delhi, India – On August 20, Secretary East of the Ministry of External Affairs, Jaideep Mazumdar, met with Luke Goh, the Permanent Secretary for Law and Second Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Singapore, in New Delhi. The meeting focused on discussing bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest.
Randhir Jaiswal, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, shared on social media, “Secy (East) @JaideepMazumder met Permanent Secretary for Law and Second Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Singapore, Luke Goh in New Delhi today. Discussions covered bilateral, regional and important international issues of mutual interest.”
In July, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan during the ASEAN meeting in Vientiane, Laos. Jaishankar thanked Singapore for its role in steering ASEAN-India relations over the past three years and discussed creating a new agenda for bilateral ties.
On June 27, Singapore’s High Commissioner to India, Simon Wong, praised India’s future prospects following President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the joint session of Parliament. Wong expressed optimism about the future of India-Singapore relations, stating, “This is indeed India’s century!”
