The 16th edition of the India-Mongolia Joint Military Exercise, Nomadic Elephant 2024, concluded on Tuesday in Umroi, Meghalaya. The exercise, which began on July 3, lasted for 14 days and involved intense training and collaboration.

Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony took place at the Joint Training Node in Umroi. It was attended by Major Gen Ganbyamba Sunrev, Chief of General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces, and Lt Gen Zubin A Minwalla, AVSM, YSM, GOC of the Trishakti Corps. During the ceremony, both leaders discussed future joint operations, emphasizing their commitment to regional security.

Following the ceremony, the Indian contingent displayed advanced weapons and equipment, showcasing the technological advancements made under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. This exhibition highlighted India’s growing defense potential.

Troops from both nations interacted eagerly, sharing experiences and insights, further strengthening the bonds formed during the training. The event concluded with remarks on the importance of unity in addressing global challenges, setting the stage for future joint operations under the United Nations mandate.
