India and Kazakhstan Join Forces for 8th KAZIND Military Exercise in Uttarakhand

The 8th edition of the India Kazakhstan Joint Exercise KAZIND is currently taking place at the Surya Foreign Training Node in Auli, Uttarakhand. This joint military exercise, which began on September 30, 2024, focuses on conducting Joint Subconventional Operations under the United Nations Mandate. The main goal is to enhance interoperability and cooperation between the two nations, especially in counter-terrorism operations.

The Indian contingent, comprising 120 personnel, includes members from the renowned Kumaon Regiment and the Indian Air Force, along with various supporting arms and services. The exercise has featured activities such as Yoga, Army Martial Arts Routine, Rock Craft Training, and Special Heliborne Operations.

The Yoga sessions emphasized physical and mental well-being, while the Army Martial Arts Routine showcased hand-to-hand combat skills. Rock Craft Training equipped soldiers with techniques for operating in rugged terrains, focusing on rappelling, rock climbing, and survival skills. Special Heliborne Operations training highlighted rapid deployment techniques using helicopters for swift operations in hostile areas.
