The India-Germany Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) took place in New Delhi, co-chaired by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Dr. Thomas Bagger, State Secretary of the German Foreign Office, on July 15.

During the visit, Dr. Bagger met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane. The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including trade, investment, science and technology, defence, and development cooperation.

Both sides agreed to deepen and diversify their bilateral ties, focusing on emerging technologies, digital platforms, renewable energy, and the green economy. They also discussed extending development cooperation to third countries.

The consultations provided an opportunity to review the current status of India-Germany relations and explore ways to strengthen their strategic partnership. They also looked forward to the 7th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) and the Asia-Pacific Conference of German Businesses, both scheduled to be held in New Delhi.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the consultations and agreed to continue working towards the success of the upcoming events.
