India and Colombia Celebrate 65 Years of Friendship on Colombia’s National Day

New Delhi, India – The Embassy of Colombia in India expressed deep gratitude to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for his warm wishes on Colombia’s National Day. The Embassy shared a post on social media, thanking Jaishankar and highlighting the strong ties between the two countries.

The Embassy stated, “The Embassy of Colombia in India on behalf of the Government of Colombia, expresses deep gratitude to HE @DrSJaishankar for his kind words on our National Day. We look forward to intensify the cooperation and mutual admiration and respect that have united us in these 65 years.”

Colombia celebrates its National Day on July 20 each year, which is a public holiday in the country. To mark the occasion, the Qutub Minar in Delhi was illuminated with Colombia’s national flag colors. The Colombian Embassy thanked India’s Ministry of Culture and Archaeological Survey of India for this honor.

The Colombian Embassy in India celebrated the 214th Independence Day of Colombia in Delhi, with Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita as the chief guest. On July 20, Jaishankar had also wished his Colombian counterpart, Luis Gilberto Murillo, on the occasion of Colombia’s National Day.

India and Colombia share warm and friendly bilateral ties. Jaishankar’s visit to Colombia in 2023 was the first Foreign Ministerial level visit from India to the Latin American country.
