On August 15, Inspector General of Border Security Forces (BSF), Harbax Singh Dhillon, hoisted the national flag at the frontier headquarters in Umpling, Shillong. The event was filled with enthusiasm as BSF personnel at the border also hoisted the flag.

Weapon Exhibition and Sweets Distribution

A weapon exhibition was organized for local students, and sweets were distributed to the personnel deployed at the border with Bangladesh, fostering camaraderie and mutual respect.

Cultural Programmes by Students

Students from BSF Schools presented cultural programmes showcasing India’s rich heritage and unity. Inspector General Dhillon encouraged students to uphold national values and become responsible citizens.

CRPF’s Tiranga Yatra in Shillong

Earlier, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Shillong as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. CRPF personnel marched through the streets, waving the tricolour and singing patriotic songs.

The Army Training Command (ARTRAC) flagged off a Tiranga bike rally in Shimla, and the BSF organized a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ bike rally in Krishnanagar, West Bengal. BSF DIG Sanjay Kumar emphasized the importance of national pride and unity.
