Inauguration of Aanbookhaireni Campus Building in Nepal

The Aanbookhaireni Campus in Tanahun District, Central Nepal, celebrated the inauguration of its new building on Thursday. This project was part of India’s High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) and was funded by the Government of India with a total cost of Nepali Rupees 30.01 million under the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’.

Joint Inauguration Ceremony

The building was jointly inaugurated by Avinash Kumar Singh, First Secretary of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Shanti Raman Wagle, Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Tanahun, and Shukra Chuman, Chairman of Aanbookhaireni Rural Municipality, Tanahun. The project was implemented through the District Coordination Committee, Tanahun.

Significance of the Project

The new double-storied campus building, equipped with various facilities, aims to enhance educational opportunities for the students of Aanbookhaireni Campus. Established in 2005 and affiliated with Tribhuvan University, the campus offers Bachelor Degree programs in Business Studies and Education, with a student body of around 300, 90% of whom are girls.

The project reflects the ongoing cooperation between India and Nepal, focusing on infrastructure development in priority sectors. The new facilities are expected to improve the learning environment and contribute to the region’s educational development.

Community and Government Support

During the inauguration, political representatives, government officials, social workers, and members of the campus community expressed their appreciation for India’s support in Nepal’s development. The event highlighted the strong ties and multi-sectoral cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
