Imran Masood Defends Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks in Lok Sabha

New Delhi [India], July 2: Congress MP Imran Masood defended Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, stating that Gandhi can never spread hatred. Masood said, ‘Rahul Gandhi said that a Hindu can never be violent and can never spread hatred. Such things should not be said in the name of Hindus.’ He added that avoiding discussions on issues like youth, students, farmers, businessmen, and women is not right.

When asked if Gandhi would apologize to the BJP leader, Masood responded, ‘What for? Is Rahul Gandhi not a Hindu? He is a worshipper of Lord Shiva. He spoke about the teachings of Hinduism.’

During his speech in Lok Sabha, Gandhi accused the BJP and RSS of spreading violence and hatred, which led to protests from BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and Rajnath Singh. The BJP accused Gandhi of misleading the House and terming the entire Hindu community violent.

Gandhi invoked religious figures like Lord Shiva, Prophet Mohammad, Guru Nanak, Jesus Christ, Lord Buddha, and Lord Mahavir, stating that he took the idea of fearlessness from their teachings. Several portions of Gandhi’s speech, targeting the central government on issues like minorities, the NEET row, and the Agnipath scheme, were expunged from Parliament records. These included his comments on Hindus, PM Modi, the BJP, and the RSS, as well as his remarks on industrialists Adani and Ambani and the Agniveer Scheme.
