Islamabad [Pakistan], September 9: Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), was warned by local authorities to follow the rally’s guidelines, which required them to leave the venue by 7pm. Despite several reminders, the rally continued past the permitted time, leading to police intervention.

During the Sangjani Rally on Sunday, participants clashed with police as they deviated from the designated route. PTI workers threw stones, prompting the police to respond with tear gas. Several officers, including SSP Safe City Shoaib Khan, were injured in the incident.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, took notice of the situation and requested a report from the Inspector General of Islamabad. He also ensured that the injured officers received the best medical treatment. In a phone call with the injured SSP Shoaib Khan, Naqvi inquired about his health and emphasized the need for top-quality care for all injured officers.

PTI claimed that shots were fired at its members by the police during the rally, which was held to demand the release of their founder and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan. The party shared a video from the rally, stating, “You can jail a man, but not his ideas,” referring to their incarcerated leader.

Additionally, PTI’s official account shared images of protests at the Pakistani Embassy in Norway, showing support for Imran Khan and his fight for justice and democracy.
