Imran Khan Talks About PTI Unity and Election Transparency

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, addressed rumors of a split within his party, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), and discussed the need for fair elections. He mentioned that there were no major differences among party leaders and that a decision on PTI deserters was pending.

Khan spoke after a court granted post-arrest bail to his wife, Bushra Bibi, in a 190 million Euro corruption case. He admitted some division among party leaders and planned to talk to them during a visit to Adiala jail on July 4.

He also commented on the US Congress resolution questioning the transparency of the February 8 elections, criticizing the government for dismissing the resolution and calling for introspection. Khan emphasized that the resolution was not US interference but a legitimate concern about election transparency.

Additionally, Khan criticized the government for increasing taxes and prices instead of reducing expenses in the financial budget, warning that this would lead to higher inflation. He suggested that a fair and transparent election was the only solution to the country’s crises.

On June 30, Khan demanded the names of party members causing internal strife, following speculations of a forward bloc forming due to the leadership’s failure to secure his release from jail.
