Imran Khan Says No Place for Those Who Left PTI During Tough Times

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, speaking from Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail, stated that there is no space in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for those who left during difficult times. He praised those who stayed despite facing violence and blackmail.

Meanwhile, the Accountability Court in Islamabad adjourned the 190 million pounds case against Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi until September 4. During the next hearing, the advocates will continue to cross-examine the investigating officer. Khan and his wife were brought before the court from prison, and the defence lawyers asked questions to the investigating officer, Umar Nadeem.

Khan, who served as Pakistan’s Prime Minister from 2018 to 2022, has been in jail since August 2023 on multiple charges, including the Toshakhana case, the cypher case, and the unlawful marriage case. His wife has also been behind bars for months. The court suspended Khan’s sentence in the Toshakhana case, while other courts overturned his convictions in the cypher and iddat cases. However, his chances of release dimmed after the Lahore Police declared his arrest in various cases related to the May 9, 2023, riots.
